Swiggy’s VP of marketing Ashish Lingamneni quits; Aparna Giridhar replaces him

Ashish Lingamneni plans to explore the world of AI and technology in his next stint. Recently, Saurabh Nath, Swiggy’s head of brand marketing also quit.

Ashish Lingamneni who served as the vice president – brand, product marketing and sustainability at Swiggy has quit after a stint of almost six years. According to media reports, Aparna Giridhar has replaced Lingamneni as the VP – marketing. She joins from Hindustan Unilever (HUL), where she was the general manager of eCommerce. Giridhar has held various roles at HUL over the last 11 years.

Lingamneni announced his move via LinkedIn. In his post, he said, “I felt like now was the right time for me to step back and spend some time reflecting, exploring and retooling with all that’s happening in the world of AI and technology and explore what the next innings of my journey could look like.” The post further read, “I’m kicking off this next phase through a series of conversations with folks across the areas of brand, growth, marketing, marketing-tech/automation/ AI to re-connect and learn.”

Lingamneni comes with an experience of 15 years and started his career at Deloitte Consulting as business technology analyst. From there, he moved to Colgate Palmolive and he joined Johnson & Johnson (J&J) as a management trainee. He held various roles at J&J, and his last role was customer marketing manager. Before joining Swiggy, he was with Ola’s marketing team.

Lingamneni holds a bachelors in engineering with a specialisation in electronics and communication. He is armed with a post graduate diploma in management – marketing from IIM, Kozhikode.

Giridhar is armed with an experience of 14 years and started her career at Nokia Siemens Networks, and then moved to Unilever. Her full-fledged role at Unilever was as area sales manager of the personal care category, then she held the position of shopper marketing manager for the states of Karnataka and Kerala. Then, she moved up the ranks and was the senior brand manager at Lakme. Then, she held the role of marketing manager and looked into the operations of Glow & Lovely.

Giridhar holds a bachelors in engineering specialising in electronics and communication. Then, she acquired a post graduate diploma in management from IIM – Kozhikode.

Recently, Saurabh Nath, Swiggy’s head of brand marketing also quit. He moved on from the organisation after a stint of one year. Nath has joined Perfetti Van Melle as associate director.
