TRAI extends date to receive comments on ‘Regulatory Framework for Broadcasting and Cable services’ consultation paper

TRAI issued a direction dated 02.06.2023 under TCCCPR-2018 to all the Access Providers to develop and deploy the Digital Consent Acquisition (DCA) facility for creating a unified platform and process to register customers' consent digitally across all Access Service Providers and Principal Entities (PE).

It has been decided to further extend the last date for submission of comments and counter-comments up to 3rd October 2023 and 17th October 2023, respectively.

Ministry of Information & Broadcasting asks BARC to share ‘Respondent Level Data’ with broadcasters

The confusion arose because the data being referred to here was the Raw Level Data. However, it is actually the Respondent Level Data that is being shared with agencies and advertisers.

BARC India had asked MIB to elucidate if it wants the body to share Raw Level Data or Respondent Level Data. BARC sought clarity from the Ministry as there was confusion with respect to the interpretation of the term ‘RLD’.

Senior counsel Darius Khambata, who appeared for SEBI informed the tribunal that while the investigation is likely to be completed in eight months as per SEBI’s chairperson, he will take further instruction and apprise the tribunal of the same.
